Salem Police Investigating Stabbing

SALEM– Officer-in-Charge Capt. Joel Dolan reports that Salem Police are investigating a stabbing that took place early Friday morning.

At 2:55 a.m., a stabbing was reported to police at a carnival set up in the corner parking lot at the Mall at Rockingham Park.

Upon arrival, police found 10 people who appeared to have been involved in a violent altercation. Two Massachusetts men, ages 39 and 30, sustained stabbing injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. The 39-year-old man also sustained injuries believed to be inflicted by a baseball bat. Both men were taken to area hospitals by ambulance.

Police found one knife at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time.
