Salem Police Respond After Car Crashes into Building

SALEM, New Hampshire — Deputy Chief Joel Dolan reports that the Salem Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash into a building today.

At approximately 1:22 p.m. Salem Police Capt. Shane Smith observed a 2006 Honda Accord drive over a curb and into the Gulf Gas Station building at 135 South Broadway.

The crash caused minor damage to the car and building, and the operator of the vehicle, a 79-year-old Methuen man, was transported by ambulance to Holy Family Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

An initial investigation indicates that the driver’s brakes may have failed.

The crash remains under investigation by Salem Police.
