Salem Police Investigating Robbery at Market Basket

SALEM, New Hampshire — Chief Joel Dolan reports Salem Police are investigating a robbery that took place at Market Basket yesterday. 

Salem Police responded to Market Basket at 167 South Broadway on Wednesday, July 7, at approximately 9 p.m. for a report of a robbery. Based on the initial investigation, police learned that the male suspect approached a cashier and demanded money. He subsequently fled to the parking lot, got into a car and drove away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male, between the ages of 40 and 50, from 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, with an average build and a grey beard. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a baseball hat, black hooded sweatshirt and shorts.
