SALEM, New Hampshire — Chief Joel Dolan reports that the Salem Police Department recently made two firearms related arrests.
A Manchester woman is facing drug and stolen firearm charges after Salem Police responded to the Red Roof Inn on Red Roof Lane at approximately 1:08 p.m. on Monday for a report of an unwanted subject.
FELICIA JOHNSON, AGE 34, OF MANCHESTER was charged with:
- Receiving Stolen Property: a Firearm (felony)
- Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (felony)
- Possession of Over Five Grams of Heroin (felony)
- Possession with Intent to Sell (two counts) (felony)
JOHNSON was arrested by Salem Police on bench warrants issued by the Salem District Court related to cases she has failed to appear in court for. Salem Police then executed a search warrant on the room she had been in and recovered a stolen firearm and more than five grams of heroin.
JOHNSON was held without bail and scheduled for arraignments before both the Salem District Court and Rockingham Superior Court on Tuesday.
Salem Police also made a firearms related arrest on Thursday, Sept. 3, at approximately 10:12 a.m. upon extraditing DIMETRIAS SCHLESINGER, AGE 32, OF LAWRENCE, MASSACHUSETTS from the Essex County Jail in Middleton, Massachusetts.
SCHLESINGER was wanted on a 2019 arrest warrant for:
- Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (firearm) (felony)
- Possession of Controlled Drugs (2 counts) (felony)
The warrant stemmed from an incident on Nov. 13, 2019 at approximately 2:30 p.m. when Salem Police initiated a motor vehicle stop on Pelham Road. SCHLESINGER was an occupant of the vehicle and during a subsequent search executed on the vehicle police recovered drugs and a firearm.
SCHLESINGER was released on personal recognizance bail. He will be arraigned before the Rockingham Superior Court, but the arraignment has not yet been scheduled.
“These two arrests reflect dangerous crimes and it was due to diligent police work that we were able to charge each of these suspects,” Police Capt. Jason Smith said. “Our community is safer from drugs and potential violence with these substances and firearms recovered by police. A job well done to each officer involved in these situations.”
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
