Chief Joel Dolan wishes to share that the Salem Police Department hosted a successful National Night Out community event, which raised awareness of the Department’s programs and anti-crime efforts.

The event, held on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at the Police Station, featured demonstrations by the Salem Police Department K-9 and Motor Units, as well as activities and games. The Salem Fire Department demonstrated access and extraction from a wrecked vehicle.

There were numerous displays and events for children, such as a bouncy house, face-painting, and farm animals to pet provided by Officer Corie Bliss. National Night Out, which started in 1984, is held in more than 16,000 communities across the United States.
